IW grower. Flowers are un-scented. Pseudobulbs are the shape and size of an avocado. Plant's c. 24" tall.

Isn't that beautiful?! Do you grow it quite wet, Dale? I readon EFG's site where they like growing in sphagnum, kept wet. I only have the Nun Orchid, grandiflora I think, but I'm really thinking about branching out into some of the others.

That would be one of them California avocados, right? Not our humongous Florida dudes which really don't taste as good, but don't say I said so. I'll deny it.

Those are spectacular photos Dale. Wow! The flower isn't half bad either.

I tried an avacado a couple weeks ago....it had no taste...is it supposed to?

"Do you grow it quite wet, Dale?"

I never allow it to dry out completely.

"That would be one of them California avocados, right?"

Yes. A Hass avocado. Those big green ones are illegal here.

"I tried an avacado a couple weeks ago....it had no taste...is it supposed to?"

Yes. They're quite flavorful. You need to stop drinking that cheap whiskey, Wendy. It's wrecking your taste buds.

Thanks, Dale. Wendy, I love the Haas avocados. Used to love our big green Florida ones until those showed up. I didn't know they were illegal on the west coast, though. :)

Nice flower. How do you grow them? I have one, but it never flower so i trade it away. Now i'm looking for spotted leaf variety, that is supposed to be easier to grow and bloom.

Commercially prepared potting soil and bright filtered light.
