Paphiopedilum sanderianum, first-bloomer

    First bloom seedling of Paphiopedilum sanderianum, a species from Borneo. This one seems a little precocious, blooming on a growth with a 16 inch leafspan just as the second growth is being produced. Petal length is only about 28 cm.

    Nice one, Ed! As an under-appreciater of Paphs this is one of my favorites. My Dad got a few large seedlings of this species last fall, I'll have to check with him to see if any are budding yet.
