A large, warm growing species primarely from the Philippines (hence the name), where it grows at sea level up to 500 meters. The leaves are thick and green measuring about 30 cm, my flowers measures 18 cm but I hear they can vary greatly in size. Quite a showy species, I really love the long corkscrew sepals and striped sail. :) I grow it medium-bright in the intermediate room, wet much of the year with a slightly drier rest period in January to March. It's potted in bark and lava mix with some dolomitic limestone pellets sprinkled on top.
