The history of the plant is as follows. I bought a large compot of these on ebay years ago...like 8 years ago. They grew and grew and never bloomed. I split them up last year. Quite a few died and I wasn't too depressed about it because this cross didn't seem to be easy to bloom. I tried chilling them and nothing. So, I was rather amazed to see one of the plants in double spike. This is the only one out of the compot to bloom so far. It's been quite the wait. And although it's nice, this cross doesn't seem to be one for impatient folks.

That's nice Candace! If you get bored with it you know where to send it. ;) Sounds almost as hard to bloom as Cooksonii. I have one of those and after four years it has yet to bloom....gave half of it (it was enormous!) to John M so he could try to flower it as well. Stupid thing!

Maybe now that it's 'learned' how to bloom it will put out more often;> No awards given to this cross and I don't see any for sale on the net. Guess reluctant bloomers aren't highly coveted things.

It is wonderful and I would certainly deem it well worth the wait!
