A challenge to photograph. This is an Ecuadorian species from a low elevation. It had done very well intermediate, but this year I have gotten some spotting on the foliage, not sure why. It came labeled as this and is from Ecuador, but it is too small for me to try and confirm the identification.

One of those orchids where the foliage is as much fun as the flowers! Well photographed, Marni. Challenge is a good word. The flowers are wonderful.

Nice Marni! This genus seems to be really hard to come by. I have been after any species for a while. No one in the US has them that I can find.

Oh, Andy, has a species listed.

They aren't too common, but are worth the effort. Your best chance to get them is from a South American vendor at a show or to order from one of them and have it shipped. Ecuagenera should have some and perhaps EcoOrquideas from Brazil.

Thanks Marni. I have been looking at both of those sites. They are on my list and I hope I can find them. I just love the fan shaped species like this.
