Vandopsis gigantea x Rhynchostylis gigantea is basically a hopped-up Rhynchstylis gigantea, twice the size and twice the flower size. Leaves are about 16" long. These 2" fragrant flowers are longlasting and have a very heavy waxy texture. I had allowed the plant to sit too long in old pot and mix, afraid to repot due to the brittle roots, but took the plunge late last winter/early spring, moving it to a 12" coconut-lined basket filled with a cypress mulch/huge spongerock mix. It promptly rewarded me with its's first-ever two-spike blooming and again now with its first-ever second blooming inside a year!
