This plant was from Hans Hermans labeled surigaense. Since it is from Hans I've never had much faith in the name. I did find an herbarium specimen for that species on line and now I have no faith in the name. It shows an inflorescence that doesn't really extend out beyond the growths and growths that are fan shape. But it is a very interesting species and I'm happy I bought it. Hans was selling a lot of plants from the Philippines at that time and he gave it the name of a Philippine species so I suspect that is where it is from. The longest growth (the one lowest in the last image) is 10" from the base of the growth to the end of the inflorescence.

Still don't know what this is. Had it but since has left my GH. This species is illustrated in Comber's book on Java, but under a wrong name. One day I will get to the bottom of this ...
