From the Philippines. Growths are about 2.5" high. Interesting plant, in or out of bloom.

I really like this genus. I had a clump of O. japonica I lost when the moss overgrew the 1" plants. I wept for a week.

These are great. Someone told me once that they think these are pollinated by water on the flowers I have no idea how it is suppose to work. True or not it makes a great story.

Craig, I don't think I buy that one. They would all be selfings. Not a good survival technique. Only one of my species has set seed.

If you liked it that much, do you have a picture, HUH, HUH? How do you know I don't have it? Well, I don't have anything named that, but I do have a little jewel about 1" tall.

And what about that moss? The last couple of years I have had moss creep like nothing I've seen before. It smothers little things, just grows right over them. But even on plants that are bigger, it can block out the water and seems to keep out the air. I HATE IT!!!!

    That is relly nice....

I too have a moss problem and have been trying to pull it off before it over takes the plants.

Sadly, Dale, I don't have that one (but I will be looking for it). The one I have is Oberonia falcata, though I don't know for sure that it is correctly ID'd. I don't have a whole plant shot, but it is coming in to bloom and I'll try to post it when it does.

Dale, I asked a friend to let me look at his slides of Oberonia species and see that in 2005 he photographed my plant of japonica. We looked most everywhere today, but didn't find it. I'll keep hoping, but mine may have gone the same was as yours.
