    but thought it might be of interest to some.

    My wife and I went for a hike on Mt. Shasta yesterday. The photo was taken at about 8,000 feet elevation. The summit, which is not visible in this view, is 14,180 feet. For those of you unfamiliar with Mt. Shasta it is a volcanic mountain in the Cascade Mountains in northern California and is about a 70 mile drive north of Redding.

    Beautiful view Kelly I love mountains and forests.I plan to go to college and study environmental law/forestry to become a park ranger or park naturalist (I will then spend most my days in the beautiful sceenery of nature):)

    I've wanted to investigate the Shasta area for a while now. How is the lake level?

    Just guessing, it looked about 10 feet from full which is the best it has been for 4-5 years. Going over on the bridge it looks like it is only down a foot or two until you see a boat for scale.

    That is great! Going over the bridge it looked like a creek the last couple years.
