Rollinkansas makes a good point, and I agree completely.

Just because you don't like something doesn't make it a problem, Clark.

I'll look into it, Loki. I don't know how easy it would be to create a formula, but I'll try.

The way the form functionality exists right now prevents calculations from occurring upon submission. Sorry, Loki.

    I'm lacking a few things.
Temperatures and sizes in Celsius and centimeters,
    More obvious Night/day temperatures.
I would love some data about how they grow in nature. More like Bakers growing sheets.

    "More obvious Night/day temperatures."

Huh? Maybe I don't understand your comment.

    Temps:
    - Summer: 58-78°F
    - Winter: 58-70°F

That doesn't seem vague to me.

I don't understand the criticisms

Jon and Forrest (and anybody else who's added culture sheets to the new page) have given up their time to pass on valuable first-hand knowledge and experience which costs you NOTHING.

There are heaps of imperial to metric converters freely available on the net -just pick one and use it.

It is also clearly stated that this new resource is not intended to replace existing resources like the Baker's sheets.

How much do you want for NOTHING??

There is a big difference between suggestions/requests and criticism. Clearly this is not a subject where suggestions are welcomed. Most of the people who live with the metric system are already working in a language other than their first to post here and I think they contribute greatly to this forum. I write articles where I give temperature and length in both systems. I don't get paid for it, I don't think people are getting something for nothing. I write so that anyone can easily access the information in a way they can understand. Writing in a way that only people of my same level and cultural experience can understand seems very narrow and self-defeating.

    What Marni said!

I was planning on treating these culture sheets like the Baker's ones.
Paying $1 each, for the privelege of having them.

Oh, good. I presume you still have my mailing address. Silver dollars only, please. I'll try to get around to preparing some more tomorrow.

Should we write those culture sheets in other languages and post them here? Oh why not? After all, it is my problem if I don't understand it.

These sheets are meant to give real world growing experience to people who have questions about specific plants. As was mentioned in the initial post, it can be difficult to translate the collection data into cultural advice. How many times have you read "I need some advice on how to grow xxx"? The purpose of this section is to catalogue the replies to those queries; it is not meant to replace or substitute the sheets that the Bakers created. If you feel something is missing from the sheets, add it. Or tell Jon or myself. This is meant to be a evolving project, hopefully always getting better. Suggestions for improvement are ALWAYS welcome. If you think you can make it better, please do. This resource is only as good as those who participate.

I think the author of the sheet should use whatever they are comfortable with. If I need to I can easily do the conversion. From some of the sheets I have read it looks like there is a combination being used.

Since I'm not comfortable in doing my sheets in English, I'll do then in Swedish instead. You can easily do the conversion.

I really think the sheets is a good thing, I just don't understand why we can't have both °C/F and mm. and inch directly in the sheets.

I did one and had both but I used in/cm. Never thought to use mm. Duh!
