Noe I'm finally done with repotting all the bulbos I showed you.
It was hard work, but since the plants did not grow well on the cork they where rather easy to remove.
Below is a photo of the epiweb iis system, both witout and then with plants. It's located in the kitchen

That looks great, Linda. Job well done. Does it get turned from time to time? Is there light coming from other than the window we see?

Lika, why are the plants mounted on slabs of Epiweb, and then the slabs put on the Epiweb tower, rather than just mounting the plants directly on the tower? Won't the roots grow through into the tower anyway?

That looks wonderful. It's going to be even cooler once the plants grow in and cover the whole thing. I want one!

    I dig it.

I have the same question as Gordon about attaching slabs to it. Wont they just grow through towards the water?

Marni - There are two MH-lamps mounted in the cealing on the side facing the room. And I can turn the tube also if needed.

Forest & Gordon -There are several reason why I dont plant them directly on the tube. First of all I want to be able to move them if something happens. Second, I want to be able to take som plant away for photographing, shows, divisions, sale etc.
Third, when plants get bigger I'm free to expand the slab or move it.
Of course the plants could get rooted in the inner tube, but that can happen in any material and background. The Bulbos are good because they have short roots compared to other generas.
The water comes as much in and on the slabs as on the inner tube, so thats no particular reason for the plant to go in there.

But if I would prefer to have a big tube with direct mounted plants on it I'm free to do that of course.

That is a really nice idea. What is the circumfrence of that and about how many drip tubes are there around the top to water it. How long do you run the pump to ensure the plants on the ottom get enough water?

Sorry for all the questions but this is a great idea and I especiallyt am looking to make water easier as right now I water everyithing manually and in the winter whne everything is inside it is a PITA.

Ah, thanks Lika. I guess that might be an advantage to having Bulbos on this sort of setup, if they tend to have short roots anyway.

Tom in PA - The diameter is 40 cm that makes a growing surface of 2 sq meter. There is only one spray bar at the top with several holes in it. In about three minutes all the plant is watered, and I have the pump running 4 times a day for ten minutes each time. And 1 time, but shorter at night.
