Here are photos of Cypripedium parviflorum (Yellow Lady's Slipper), Corallorhiza striata (Striped Coral Root), Cypripedium arinetum (Ram's Head) and Calypso bulbosa. I did not get a photo of Cyp reginae this year as it appears that the clump had been dug up...I'd like to catch them in the act. Why are people so stupid? :bang:

These photos were taken on my annual trip to the Bruce Peninsula. I love it up there!

...more. Notice that there is a seed capsule forming on the Calypso. These were the only two fllowers on the site. A large pine had blown down and the area was pretty sunny...I'm guessing that was the reason that the colony was down to two plants.

Ah..those are wonderful, Wendy. Thank you.

Is this your annual trip with the husband, where you two get a cabin and .... go fish? :D

Yep this is the annual trip, but Steve didn't go this year. My mom went with me as she's never seen the orchids. Steve had to work...he's working 84 hours a week right now (all 12 hour night shifts!) but you should see how fit and muscular he's getting...hmmmm, maybe I should have taken him. ;)
