Any of you growing Myrmecodia (ant plant)? I purchased 2 of them from Andy’s several years ago. I have them mounted on cork bark and treat them like an orchid.

They have grown, flowered and produced seed. Below are some seedlings growing on my window sill. They are really easy. Just place seeds on the surface of moist sphagnum moss, enclose in a plastic bag, place on a sunny window sill and wait.

The flowers and seeds remind me of dwarf mistletoe…ugly! But fun.

For scale, they are in a 2” pot.

Couple different clones of Hydnophytum formicarum, Myrmecodia solomonensis, Myrmecodia platytyrea variety antoinii and Mossman Gorge, Myrmecodia tuberosa ‘Dahlii’, and Myrmephytum sp Yellow Fruit Philippines.

Let me know if I can send you some Kelly!

I don’t own any however several Hydnophytum (a related genus that I personally find more attractive) species are on my (ever growing) wishlist.

Daniel, you have a nice collection. Congratulations.
The ones I got from Andy were labeled as sp. but I suspect they are beccarii

The little ones in the foreground of photo 2, are those Myrmecodia?

    I’ll PM you.

I have 4 or 5 species I got from Tropiflora and trades. Great source for epiphytes and tropicals.
