Myrmecatavola (Mvc.) Frances Fox ‘Fire Flame’

    I received this plant in bloom two days ago.It has another 'fancy' name for a cattleya type plant. The plant I received is quite large and healthy. I did clean the plant up a little including wiping the leaves. I have also attached my 'individual plant file' showing the history of my plant and some other outside info and websites.

    In the summary sheet I see that you write that this hybrid is unregistered, why?

    Since the name is correct with spelling and everything, it is easy to see that it is registered. In a search in the international orchid registry enter the genus Myrmecatavola and the grex Frances Fox.

    Yes, Francis Fox is registered, but not Francis Fox 'Fire Flame'. I do not know if Fire Flame is a seperate grex. So I labeled it as unregistered. I do not know at all.

    ‘Fire Flame’ is the name of the cultivar or clonal name and is therefore written in single quotation marks. Clonal names are also given to pure species. Every awarded orchid, species or hybrid, will have a clonal name.
