just got an email from ebay that my plastic egg crate cannot be shipped. :(
I cant find anything else to put on the bottom or on the back wall to hang up my mounted orchids.
Does anybody have an idea of a substituteto egg crate?

I don't know what kind of stores are available to you where you live. If you have a home improvement store that sells lighting supplies then the "egg crate" light diffuser should be available. See photo. I don't know if this is the same thing you ordered on Ebay?

Hardware type stores may not have it. I would also check computer outlet places. Not places that sell computers necessarily, but ones that sell accessories. If that is not an option, this has also worked for me. It is a sort of glorified, coated chicken wire. It comes it different length roles. It is fairly sturdy, but some other framing would help. It is not as easy to work with in my opinion

That is known in the US as hardware cloth. It comes both plastic coated or uncoated and galvinized. You would probably need to build a frame. There is also a diamond patterned wire grate that is more ridge and used for benches here before the plastic "hog flooring" became popular. You could also look at flooring or grating form some industrial projects.

    Galvanized aluminum?
I have found a handy man that he can do that for me.
The problem is that i dont know if the material will harm the orchids.

In terms of "hardware cloth" or wire mesh (wire cloth) - feel free to take a look at the manufacturer here as well - www.bwire.com

They create this material as well as having a lot on shelf in inventory and ready to ship same day. I visited their warehouse in New Jersey and you wouldnt believe how much of this mesh they have in stock. They are also willing to send out 4"x4" samples for free before you go and place your order.
