After a week of cleaning, repotting, and organizing I am feeling much more in control heading into spring. The phals are popping daily and I keep finding new spikes. I replaced all my old ID tags with pretty new purple ones (that I don't have to struggle to make out anymore). My local orchid show is in two weeks and I guarantee I won't come away from it empty handed so my next task....more space in my space! :) Screenshot_2016-03-22-19-41-00.png

What a display!!! Will you be showing your plants in the show?

Thanks guys! Marni, as far as showing any of my plants, the thought has crossed my mind but most likely I won't ( even though my phal amabilis did beautifully this year ). I hope to one day but don't quite think I'm on that level yet. :)

Rachel - Show your plant. It's the only way to learn. It don't cost you anything and good experience.

Rachel, There's a reason that every show I've ever been to had a beginner's section for entering plants. That so that people without a lot of experience are showing their plants along with other people without a lot of experience. Also, it's a way to support your society and get people to know what you grow. It's a lot more fun if you are a participant. Your plants are beautiful, be proud of them.

Thanks for the encouraging words! I contacted my local orchid society that is organizing the show for info about entering and am waiting to hear back from the display coordinator. The show is this weekend, but even if it's too late, I can shoot for next year. I also spoke with the society's photographer who offered to "capture my orchids photographically." Regardless of whether I make it in this year, I can't wait to spend hours (and probably some cash) there this weekend.
