Hi everyone! Back home in Cebu, Philippines, my Mom passionately raised orchids. I'm a molecular virologist currently working for Pfizer and it appears that I've inherited her passion. This started about 7 years ago, when my domestic partner gifted me a Phalaenopsis NOID which he purchased from a grocery store in NYC. That started it all. Now, between the two of us, Atlanta, GA condo and his office/lab in Kennesaw, GA, we have about 240 orchids! We're both members of the American Orchid Society and the Atlanta Orchid Society.

Welcome to the forum. I suspect there are plenty of other people who started out with one Phalaenopsis that spiraled out control. I certainly did.
