I was given this as Miltonia moreliana. Now that it is in bloom, I have serious doubts about the correctness of the name.
    This because
    1. The plant is more robust, leaves darker green and the inter-pseudobulb rhizome much shorter than the species ( I have a plant of Miltonia moreliana)
    2. Every spike has 2 blooms whereas 1 bloom per spike is the norm for the species.
    3. In the species, the lip is wider than longer and flat where this plant's lip is longer than wider and not flat.

I would appreciate any help or comments on my plant
    Thanks

Allan, I am not specialist in Miltonias. Hope someone can help you. Welcome to OI and welcome to share photos of your orchids. Interesting, what is in the collections of orchid growers in Johannesburg.

I don't really grow miltonias either, but I agree it doesn't look quite right. It is a really good sized plant.

And I second the welcome to OI.

I would say that this is Miltonia spectacilis var. moreliana. The differences you suggest lays within a species variiability. It could all depend on clone, locality, growing situation etc. IMO.
