Masdevallia tatianae

    Don't know virtually anything about this species other than from Peru and a cool grower. Not even sure 100% about the name.

    This plant is not a multifloral, even thought the pictures may give the impression. Also is nice that the blooms are held nicely above the foliage.

    Nice, delicate flowers. Never seen it before. Don't think it's much cultivated, at least not in Europe.

    Update on this one...first of all, I misspelled it in the original post. Should be M. tatianae. Also there is a good article from December 2016 in Lankesteriana where this species was published. Lastly, we did get a CHM award on this plant this past weekend. The individual blooms on this plant are surprisingly long lasting and new buds are still yet to bloom, so a long season with many blooms open at once.

    Update on this plant...is a cool grower, but seemed to handle the warm 2018 Summer just fine. It has doubled in size.
