A different clone of M. setacea. This is about 5" from tip to tip.

    very dramatic!
What causes the yellowing on the tips of leaves? I have couple of masdies that have the same yellowing.

Ooooh! Add a division of that gorgeous plant to my cart?
    TIA!
Lotta flowers for the size of the plant!
    That's a GOOD thing!

Peter, I'm not exactly sure, but my guess is just normal aging. What do others think?

If it were on the newer leaves as well, I would have more concern. This not a current blooming, other wise I would check for bush snails (I always blame them first), or past time for remounting. In the winter older leaves normally yellow like this before they drop off. If they aren't old leaves that are doing this, it might be a calcium deficiency.

Are yours yellow on all of the leaves? Just the leaf tips? Only certain species or hybrids?

Yellow tips is often ccuring in our masdies to. We have not figured out if it's problem with pH, nutrition, temperature or just difficult clones. But something is wrong I think...

Marni: Lovely flowers! Amazing with them so big!

It's a bit random on my masdies. A couple of hybrids show it, mostly on the older leaves, but many are nicely growing with all green leaves. They all get the same water/fertilizer.

It could be heat stress? It's hard to keep them cool down here in So. Cal.

    Thanks for the help!
