I have had Masdevallia josei since the beginning of this year (2021). She is now flowering for the first time. She was found in south-east Ecuador at an altitude of about 1800m. She is named after the Ecuadorian orchid grower José Portilla. With me she is in the temperate orchidarium. Temperature between 22.5°C and 15.5°C.
I do have some doubts whether the name is correct. On the few pictures that exist and on Luer's drawing, you see red dots on the lower sepals. This one does not have that. The lip seems to match.

There’s something yellow flowers do for me. The species is exceptional, if I see one and remember josei I’m getting it!

I love the warmer colors. Yellow is one of them and with Masdevallia's it's a color you don't see that often
