Today, 365 days after I began looking for a carpenter and 4 months after I emptied the old greenhouse, I am almost to ready to move in. I may have to do something about the shade cloth since 50% doesn't seem to be enough even at this time of year. I'll see as the day progresses.

Exciting and it looks wonderful! Do these egg crates last under the sun? Some plastic seems to become fragile with UV, but I guess the polycarbonate roof probably cuts out most UV?

Naoki, I never thought about it, but they are designed to withstand being a couple inches from fluorescent lights. I've used some of these for over 30 years and they were used when I got them. The UV protection of the polycarbonate certainly does help. The fact that my plants are so close together that the sun rarely reaches the egg crate doesn't hurt either.

30 years! That's amazing. You are right, fluorescent lights seem to emit quite a bit of UV, so the egg crates have to be able to deal with it.

I guess that even after the expansion, your benches will be filled up quickly, and we always need more bench space!

I started moving in a few days ago. This will take a while, but I am very happy with the greenhouse. Pretty soon the stress will fade. Here are a few images from the other day. The new greenhouse is filling up and the old intermediate house is emptying out. I will drop the temperature in the old one so that it is the cool house after I do some weatherizing for efficiency.

Wow, that is wonderful. I know it was a long process but once you started building is seems like things went pretty fast.

Thanks, folks. The walls in the soon-to- be big, cool house are now all clean after Clorox and a pressure wash. Ready to start moving in there now too.

Oh how jealous I am. It all looks like it will be a great project when completed. Sorry for all the delays weather and delivery wise. I built a greenhouse many years ago with great success but had to leave it behind:(. I now am an indoor grower who has the added bonus to grow under a arbor during our warmer weather. Oh how i miss my greenhouse....Congrats and keep us all posted.

Holy crap, that's amazing. Maybe one day when I'm rich and famous I'll be able to build a greenhouse. Oh wait, I'm a musician. *sigh*
