Oh boy! You guys are getting good at it now! The second shot is awesome.
Thanks, Tom. The first shot is stacked, but the second shot is a single shot. It is in a 4" pot. Since I've been writing monthly articles for Orchids Magazine I am paying a lot more attention to getting good whole plant shots. It is much easier to write an article when you have a photograph that shows the plant.
That is really nice, Marni. Thanks.
Wow,,,that is really something. I look forward to reading your articles each month BTW.
Marni. are there any red stripes down the throat of the lip. I have one that's labeled aromatica and sometimes wonder if the ID is correct.
Clark, I pulled the lip off and it gets a more intense shade at the base of the lip, but not a stripe in sight.
Now that is very, very pretty!
Your aromatica could be cruenta, Clark. I have both and they look and smell pretty darned much the same except for the red down in the throat.
Very nice, Marni. Love the second pic, especially. Wish mine would do that!
Jon, you're probably correct. It came labeled as aromatica, and the label is clearly written by an AOS judge I know.
Is she or he a good judge? A lot of them only know how to measure flat flower you know.
He served as a taxonomist at WOC. His hand writing is quite distinct.
Now that is a different story. I am not saying that a taxo doesn't make any mistake but they are much better than most of the judges. Good luck with yours, Clark.
Really nice Marni. I got a a backbulb division sometime ago and it just limps along. I should just go out and get myself an established plant.
