This relative of stanhopea is from Colombia, has an impressively long spike and lasts a lot longer than most in this group. It also has a wonderful spicey smell. I has been growing in a 5" basket. I grow it in intermediate conditions with year round water. I think it would be better with warmer conditions.

I am not familiar with this one. Thanks for the post. I think I see moss on your basket:poke:

Piotr, it doesn't really take up as much space as I used to think it would. The spikes are long, but it is growing in a 6" pot and is very upright so it doesn't shade its neighbors. It takes up a lot less space than your stanhopeas. I highly recommend it.

I agree with Morabeza, framing this plant is not easy!
