I've been thinking of ordering some plants from Pacific Orchids in Hawaii, if anyone can tell me what their experience with them has been I would appreciate it. So far so good with the communication. And feel free to tell me what places stand out to you as good and you'd purchase from again.

    Thanks!

I've never dealt with them but Andy's orchids in Ca is always an excellent place to buy from. If your looking for flasks Marni has an incredible list of species available.

Thanks! I have spoken to Marni, and when I am a little more experienced I will get some from her. I don't want to run before I walk...(smile).

Julie, what you are interested will make a big difference in who you shop with. If you haven't looked at the Orchid Mall vendor's list, that would be a good place to start investigating. They list lots of vendors and what they sell, link to websites etc. If you aren't a member of an orchid society near you that would be a good thing to investigate too. They usually have member's sales table and speakers frequently bring plants for sale. It is a wonderful way to see plants in person, get to ask questions.

Thanks Marni, I didn't see the list. I better look around the site more. I am planning of joining one the ones I found are both about 2 1/2 hours drive from me so meeting would be hard to go to especially in the Winter. There is an orchid show here each spring that I've gone to although there was only 2 or 3 vendors there, so There are some to look for but not as wide a range. But I need to do some reach and see what I would like to add to my collection. They are all beautiful and unique...and like you said I need to learn more about the varieties their needs and the conditions I can provide for them here.

I'm in the Columbia basin. So that's the south eastern corner of Washington, near the famous Walla Walla where the onions come from. I will check out the links now, thanks!

Michalisz, here is a German vendor. I don't know anything about them. http://junginger-orchideen.de/
I would recommend that you start a new post asking for help from European growers. There are a number of them on this site. Your question is getting buried in this thread.

EDIT: I did a search and found a thread on a different Forum site. They show a good list of European vendors. http://www.orchidboard.com/community/vendor-feedback/58685-orchids-vendors-europe.html After you look at the site come back to our forum :)

Has anyone purchased from Olympic Orchids near Seattle? I ordered at Thanksgiving and haven't heard a word from them. Not even a response to my emails. The weather here is cold like so many places right now, I just want to make sure I'm home when they get here....

I haven't order from her, but I have sold to her. The transactions have been smooth, but leisurely. I would be confident that she will respond, just perhaps not in the time frame you were expecting. I looked at the website and there is a phone number. Try calling. Have you paid yet?

    Marni,

That's kind of what I thought and even more so because of the time in the year....I guess I'm a just a little excited. I had thought about calling but I felt bad, don't want to be pushy. We have been in the sub zeros with the wind chill factor and I got a dshipment where the heat pack had slid to the end away from the plants and one was damaged. They refunded the cost but the poor little plant! I really don't mind if it takes longer if it's better for the plant.thanks for telling me about your experience with her!:)
