Sorry Bri, we can't tell. It's a secret. Besides - we were drinking .....

Things are good here. Getting anxious for Spring and playing in the dirt. Started working on the veggie garden last week - planted some cool weather stiff. We'll start other things inside in the next few days.

i need to find time to dig out my raised beds, line with something impermiable and refill with clean stuff.
got verticilium in the yard so i wanna keep it out of the beds so it doesn't kill parts of my garden again.
anyone have any thoughts about an appropriate plastic or fabric to line the beds?

I have a couple dozen heirloom tomato seedlings growing happily. And some nasturtiums too. I should put in lettuce, maybe I'll get some seeds tomorrow and plant them outside.

Gardening talk makes me thirsty, ya know.

We bought a bunch of heirloom tomato seeds recently - some place in CA that has hundreds of heirloom varieties. We'll get them started this week along with the peppers and some squash. Rest of it goes stright into the grough after Mother's Day.

Ok - we have to be careful about having a non-drink oriented conversation here. You know how Tracy gets.....

Did they send you a set of ten different seed varieties, kind of a value/variety pak, as it were, or did you pick and choose which heirlooms you wanted to grow?

I received a value pac of heirlooms, 10 different varieties. I got out my Tomato Bible to see what I could find out about these tomatoes. I didn't find all but some of the ones I did find were not given good 'taste' reviews, which really surprised me. I don't have a lot of garden space and must be very particular in what I grow.

Do a google search on "heirloom tomato seeds" There's a few sites that heve hundreds of varieties. Maybe you can find descriptions for the rest of the seeds.

Damn - where's that barkeep with my glass of heirloom juice.....
