 Anyone grow this species? I was not aware of this species and just stumbled across it online. Anyone know if it is in the U.S. market?

Kelly, this is a plant that I have been trying to find for quite some time. The only person that was selling it was J&L Orchids, but they sold both plants they had to the botanical garden overseas that purchased their entire private collection. They were selling a 3 leaf division for $350. A very rare and expensive plant.

If you happen to find it, please let me know as it is high on my wanted list as well.

Thanks for the info, Chris. It's safe to say that I won't be spending $350 for one. Yikes.

Yes their plants were wild collected (legally with CITES years back) and to my knowledge the only two that were ever bought into the country.

OMG! I remember seeing this plant (or a very close relative) in the wild!
Its a big one, and I remember thinking how much "lettuce - like" (I know!),it looked like.

The species has been found again, and I've germinated the first batches of seeds. These will be available in the +/- near future through Ecuagenera :)
