I have nothing to say. You killed a gift. It's like drinking another man's beer. You just don't do it.

I know the feeling. It is almost as bad as killing a gift where you got the bigger half. Almost

I've killed many plants, Marni. Just not ones that were gifted to me. I take special care not to kill those. Unless it's a mushy little 3 backbulb division that some claims was "the larger half". Then, well, I suppose I didn't really kill it.

You aren't allowed to reply. I think Karen just whacked you off.

Either you haven't been growing very long or hardly anyone gives you anything. Personally I can kill orchids regardless of how I got them.

Marni, I think it is a little from column A and a little from column B.

I've been growing about 8 years, Marni. While not as long as some of our "Senior Members", I think it's a decent length of time. Sure, I've killed a few plants that were given to me, but none of them were as awesome as lepanthes felis.

I only get really upset with myself when it is the only known plant in cultivation and I really like it. Otherwise, it is a part of growing orchids. Last summer a friend really wanted a piece of Dendrobium cyanocentrum. I gave him my backup piece. It was dead in 6 weeks. It doesn't make him a bad person or a bad grower, the plant just died. It also doesn't mean I wouldn't give him another piece when I have it. But I'll keep a back up piece first.

Nice pics Marni. I especially like the green bunny ears!
