I have no idea about how the electronics of this works, but I'm really hoping to start using some LEDs soon for lighting. How much did the entire setup cost, and how critical is the heat dissipation for the LEDS? Also, what is the advantage of using this over the blue/red wavelength ratios we typically see (don't get me wrong I think the white looks so much better and this is the second example of white LEDs being used to grow orchids and I LOVE IT). Finally, I've heard that LEDs are more directional with their light - does this affect the drop off in intensity?

Any updates on the setup, Chris? I did some reading and research over the last month or so (and subsequently answered most of my own questions above) and I'm considering investing in some of these

I've personally been waiting for the sulfur plasma kind of expecting they would never come to market. Well they have, and once manufacturing ramps up and the price drops I will definitely get one.

140 lumens/watt of full spectrum light is comparable to LEDs, plus its full spectrum.

As mentioned a couple of months ago, I'd love to see some updated pictures along with any other LED tinkering you have done.
