This tried to bloom in the spring alongside the type form, but I got water in the leaf-axil-encased buds at a critical time and they blasted. Fortunately this has 2-3 growth cycles a year, and has sent up new buds, this time surviving my watering wand. The 4" (10.16cm) flowers are almost as large as the plant, this grows in intermediate conditions in high light alongside my cattleya species in loosely packed osmunda in a slotted 5" (12.7) clay pot, and is 16 growths.
