Well just got back from the Longwoods Garden orchid show, and as I expected, it was a lot of fun.

I asked Andy a few weeks before the show to round up his smallest pleuros for me and he did not disappoint, so here are some photos of what I took home with me.

My only regret was not buying even more.

    Pleurothallis determannii

    Pleurothallis sp. Costa Rica

    Capanemia micromera

    Trichosalpinx chameleopanthes

    Barbosella dusenii

    Pleurothallis recurva Brazil

Anyway thats most of what I picked up. Ecuagenera had some cool minis but by the time I left Andys booth I had no money left.

I can see you like mini-mini. Nice haul!

I don't think the last one is Pthl. recurva though.

What do you think it is?

It was labeled Pleurothallis recurva 'Brazil' however, it was unnamed when he first gave it to me and said he thought it was this one. I know he said for some, he wasnt 100% sure if the IDs were correct, but just went by what the person who gave them to him labeled them.

Know that feeling! Did you check on the stuff at O.D.V.? It is their first time to come to this show and I do hope they do okay.

Hmm besides ecuagenera I only remember one other place from outside the US, and they had mostly larger plants with them so I really didnt take a good look. However, all the tables has customers, or potential customers around them all the time, so Im sure they did fine.

Yeah, you missed O.D.V. and I was told they were there but not very busy yesterday.

No, I don't know what it is. I don't recognize the plant either. When it blooms, you might be able to identify it. It is a cool looking plant though.
Pthl. recurva is from Brazil but the plant is completely different. I have one but I don't have a plant or flower photo in my file. If you google for its image, you might be able to find the flower and plant photos.

Cool, thanks, Ill look into it. It was so hard to make room for the new stuff in my already super tightly packed 10 gallon full of minis. I really am a big fan of Andys pieces....a lot were large enough that I was able to make some extra cuttings of them from pieces that were growing off the mounts.

Now I just gotta hope I dont kill them all. :D

Hmm, I google for images after I saw Harry's post. It appears it is a variable species with different leaf shape and flower color. There are few varieties as well according to how they've labled the photos. Mine has much bigger, rounder and thicker leaves(roughly 2"X0.8" for the biggest leaf)than rollinkansa's new plant. Sorry for the confusion.

Sweet! I can't wait to see blooming pics posted ;) I love the growth habit of the determannii. It looks like strings of green coins...

We ended up having very little time for shopping (tear down day), but I did get a few porroglossums from ecuagenera as they were packing. I don't know why, but along with scaphosepalums, they are one of my favorite genera. I need more.
