Isabelia virginalis

    This is a small Brazilian species that florally resembles Laelia and vegetatively resembles Maxillaria.

    Flowers are 0.5 inch, 1.5 cm wide and 3/8 inch, 1 cm tall.
    Leaf is 1.25 inch, 3.5 cm long. Sweet and light floral fragrance.

    Growing cool/intermediate.

    Is there any trick to blooming this? My plant is bigger and unbloomed as yet.

    I don't know, Pook. It blooms mid November, every year for me.
    I'm NOT really good about watering it.
    It might be the nights into the upper 40's that triggers the bloom.

    Mine gets nights in the 40's about now for the past 3 years.....
