    Nice one Zach.
Is there any moisture retention material on the mount?

Thanks, Kelly. It is mounted directly to a cedar plank. I was given this plant because my friend was growing outdoors and the abrupt humidity swings that we can get in early summer were causing the spikes to blast. He was growing it potted in coarse bark. When I moved it to my greenhouse, my conditions seemed too wet for the choice of potting media, and the plant declined a bit. It has stabilized since I mounted it but is still not all that pretty aside from maturing a spike. I guess time will tell how it fully responds to bare mounting, but I have other "Dendrobiums" that seem to be growing well this way.
