I have tons I could do, washing windows comes to mind, but I don't want to today. So, I made a peach cobbler.
Two vantage points. Not sure what made me use the pie pan but I'm glad I did, gives it a festive look, don't you think?
I shall serve it with home-made whipped cream. Maybe some ice cream too.

Hell, I might have some ice cream right now..*mj wanders off into the kitchen*

Just you wait 'til I make my Paella.

It IS festive, MJ. VERY festive! And it looks delicious, too. Did you use fresh peaches? Will you make the ice cream too or just the whipped cream? Do you make your paella with fresh clams on top along with the peas sprinkled on the top? Did you ever look in the oven to see those poor things trying to dig down into the paella? Do you think they have feelings? Not hurt feeling feelings -- hot and cold feelings? Do you want me to shut up now? I can do that. That cobbler looks just delicious and you have a very lucky family, assuming the cobbler and the ice and whipped cream are still in the house when they get home. My daughter did that once -- baked brownies and ate all of them before her DH and boys got home. And she's still slender. I'm shutting up now.

Marni, if ever we chance to meet, I'll try to remember to bring you a cobbler. :D

    Ann. Enough coffee already.

Yes, I used fresh, the only way I roll, don't ya know.
I have Breyer's Vanilla but I will make my own whipped cream.
I don't use the oven for paella, I cook it outside on my improvised paella cooker. (the base of the turkey fryer. You know, I've never fried a turkey in that thing, I just do my low country boil in it)
I refuse to think about the clams.

I did that with brownies once but they were never intended for anyone but moi.

With the heat wave we're having I have to ask, Did you eat the ice cream or smear all over yourself to cool down?

    Dang, make cookies tomorrow.

I see that *someone* is still thinking about Key West....

Actually, I was good and had a bottle of water instead of ice cream. That's how I keep my boyish figure.

I was going to make a peach cockaigne but it seemed like too much work.

Thanks Karen. I think it will be a hit.

Yeah. I dare ya. *mj's fork hovers over Tom's hand*

It is, Clark. And it's a cake.

As much as I like cobblers, I probably should expand my baking horizons a bit. But damn, ya just can't beat a good cobbler. And try as I might, my pie crusts SUCK.

And Alexis wonders why no one stops by to see her as they pass on by to the Keys.

That sure does look tastey M.J. Vanilla icecream on it would make it perfect.

I know but all I have in the house is chocolate ice cream and I was too lazy to run to the store for vanilla. The whipped cream was pretty tasty, though!
