Holcoglossum kimballianum--2.5" flower.
Nice, Tom, I wish mine would do that. It is a good sized, multi-growth plant without a spike in sight.
Thanks, Marni. I only have grown this species for just over a year and I have been growing it the same way I have grown my other Holco. species(wangii, amesianum...)
Maybe a bit more light for yours?
It is about the same light as my Laelia anceps (which are starting to spike). I dry it some in the winter and it gets cold. If it doesn't bloom soon I'll try moving it to a more moderate greenhouse. Seeing yours makes me want to bloom mine too.
Marni, it sounds like you are giving it enough light... Try to grow it outside and see what will happen. Mine sent out spikes after I moved it out in spring.
None of my Holcoglossum species will get winter rest but they are naturally drier during the colder months
Wonderful! I have also it - but quite small plant, any chance for whole plant picture, pretty please!
Whole plant shot will be difficult to make, here is part of the plant
That's a really nice one Tom!
Really nice species!
Wow really nice. I wish my growing area is cool enough to grow this beauty.
Do you have to keep it cool year round??
No,(Edit-I meant not necessary). It's been growing outside for the warmer months but we don't get a lot of days of 90+F temperature.
Wow, what a nice display, Tom!
how can you achieve this, I have a rather large plant, it will not just bloom ........:bang:
Need a better luck if you grow it the same way that I have mentioned but still no blooms.
piotrm, just for you.
thats awsome. Wish mine were that big. Gives me something to look forward too!
Very impressive!!! Thanks for posting this.
Maybe I have not read so good, however my plant is not as big as yours but it is much bigger than what I see flowers in Italy.
I grow amesianum and wangii equally and I have not problems with them
Having no other options, I try to get him to take a bit of fresh air in Autumn ... the seller told me it must have some cold winter night but it I can not give
