    One of the new Vandatious hybrids which is not in the International Orchid Register yet. I have got that plant this summer. It took 3.5 months for two spikes to develop and finally bloom. so far plant has miniature size (no more than 4" tall). Not sure if its growth is completed. Holc amesianum x Asctm pusillum 01.jpg

    This is probably mislabeled...should be Holc. wangii not amesianum. In that case it has been registered as Holcoglossum Pink Jenny
    Pete.

    Yes, mislabeling can be very frustrating, but it unlikely happened in this case. It wood be too many mistakes for a single tag:
    - plant has "industrially" printed Ten Shin tag;
    - Ten Shin supposedly mislabeled seed parent, identifying Holcoglossum
    amesianum instead of Holcoglossum wangii;
    - Ten Shin supposedly mislabeling pollen parent, identifying Ascocentrum pusillum instead of Ascocentrum pumilum, which is listed in parentage of Holcoglossum Pink Jenny.

    I'm 200% with Peter as regards mislabelling, whatever Ten Shin might have done on their labels.
    the red-spotted yellow throat can't, by any means, come from Holco amesianum.
    And this almost terete leaf can't be the result of breeding H. amesianum with Asco pusillum (which has flat leaves, as opposed to almost terete leaves of pumilum)

    The situation was very intriguing and I have contacted Ten Shin Gardens. Here is a quote of the response: "Hi Alexey,I did not make the cross myself but my friend who made the cross used Hologlossum amesianum and Ascocentrum pusillum... I am pretty sure the hybridizer didnt make any mistable with the label. He is pretty knowledgeable and has no reason to create a mislablled hybrid. Thank you for letting me about this..."

    The funniest thing - whenever I searched images for Holcoglossum Pink Jenny in Google, only someone's single photo from ebay and my photos from this thread are referenced. They look more similarly to each other than I would like.

    What does not allow to be more positive - so far, there are no updates in the International Orchid Register and unfortunately "the chid is illegitimate".
