Kelly,I am going to try again. Well I went to upload a file and it was the same as before.

Upload file takes me to where I can chose a photo [in my IPhoto] the photo is a jpeg, one says it is undefined.
When I double click or single click the picture goes away and the forum screen that you get when uploading a file comes on. There is a tiny picture of my picture and its id I think, I can choose or close. choose takes me back to my IPhoto, close makes it all go away and back to my draft. The selected picture does not follow along.

Hmmm. Not sure what is happening. I never see the "Choose" or "Close" option.

If someone using a Mac can help Anita I would really appreciate it. Maybe there is something different between Mac and PC that I am not aware of. In the tutorial that Marni wrote in 2013 the Mac looks like the same as the PC process.

I am on a Mac and when I click upload it takes me to the finder where I can navigate where a photo is. I highlight the file and click Open. After the file is loaded, this is what I see. I can choose thumbnail or full image.

I've never used IPhoto nor the new photo program. You might try putting an image on the desktop and selecting that.

You could also try taking a screen shot of what you see and email it to me at [email protected] and I can post it here.

Could it be a file extension, maybe? Cove Lady mentioned it was a jpeg, and I know some software will only accept it if the extension is jpg.

I too use a Mac and have found that if you click upload file, it just loads forever, but nothing ever uploads. What I do is download the picture to the desktop and then drag the picture into the box where you would type. That puts it into the uploads area and you can choose from there how you'd like to incorporate it into the post.

I'm going to try that right now. I get into my IPhoto and drag the picture I want over to the grayed image of the forum reply page and the photo immediately jumps back into the IPhoto, it will not stay on the page. There is not enough of my desktop window showing to try and drop it there. Before I tried this I put the photo's onto my desktop but the forum screen completely covers it and I can't access them. There has got to be some way to do this. I do not know how to take a picture of my screen to post to you.

Is here a way to shrink the forum on my screen so I could access the pictures that I put there. I have never done that kind of thing.

Chris, I have had that problem in the past (months ago), but now it works fine. It may be that I upgraded by system. Since I almost never shut off my computer, that can sometimes help to get things back on track.

Here is how to take a screen shot

Resize the window by putting the curser in the lower right hand corner. You should see a double ended arrow when you hover over the corner of the windo you want to make smaller. Click and drag the corner up and to the left to show the desk top or windows beneath.

Check to be sure that your image name ends with ".jpg"

I just shrunk the page now lets see what happens. Well, I moved 3 pictures over and the screen said drop then here to upload and when I let them go they disappeared. A message just came on saying there was an error file to big to upload. Now what do I do, I have no idea how to change their size.

OK, you are getting close. Again, not having a Mac I can't give you specifics on resizing the photos. However, you probably have some photo management software. Get into that software, open your photo and find the "resize" or "image size" option. I usually use 800 or 900 pixels (px) for the largest side (length or width depending on how the photo is oriented). Save the resized photo to a new name so you still retain the original size photo as well.

You have all been so helpful about this, I feel like special person, Thanks. I do not know how to resize my photos or rename them. I am going to go to the Mac store tomorrow, they want me to come in instead of trying to do it on the phone. I'll let you know how that turns out. By for now, Anita What isnthis that I have won a trophy what am I supposed to do? That is a long list of stuff, but I love this place.

Congratulations! I think you will find the people at the Apple store a wealth of information. If you signed up for Apple Care or just recently got your Mac, you can get phone support for all kinds of things there. The Apple Store has lots of classes that would help you learn to make your Mac work for you. By the way, nice Vanda!
