I've been a long time lurker and recently stumbled across some photos on the site that rekindled my interest in Angraecoids. I've been growing off and on for 30+ years and had the good fortune to meet Fred Hillerman back in the early 80's when he was actively importing from Madagascar. A visit to his greenhouse kindled an interest in growing African orchids that's still going strong. Unfortunately, I haven't had a greenhouse to house an orchid collection but I hope to remedy that problem soon!

Welcome to OI. Are you in the humid or dry part of Texas? I've lived in the Panhandle and the Piney Woods so both extremes. Either way, you would enjoy the greenhouse.

Welcome -- yes, where are you in Texas? Another angraecoid-nut is bound to fit in well around here.

I'm in N. Texas, not too far from Texoma. Looks like you're just across the border :)

I didn't catch the angraecoid flu until after Hillerman had exited the scene. He lived only a short distance from here and was a member of my local society.

    Welcome to the forum!

Angraecuenza; n - of or relating to the volunteered contraction of collecting or devoting inordinate amounts of time to learn about plants relating to the Aerangidinae or Angraecinae sections.

A quick look in the species gallery confirms this. We understand your disposition and welcome you.
