Nice list, Goods! You need more Dendrobium species and some Bulbophyllums. :)

Just wondering, how does a 6-year-old take up orchid growing as a hobby? I thought my nephew was a superstar for becoming interested at 10! How's that Corybas doing for you so far?

Are you interested in trying a Vanda coerulea seedling? It's only ~2 years out of flask, but has 18" roots. If you're doing well with your other Vandas, I'd be happy to send it to you as a "welcome to the forum" gift. PM me with your address if you'd like it. :)

    Thanks Alexis.

I'm slowly adding more Dendrobiums and Bulbos. I've had the most success with Vandas and their relatives and am starting to branch out from there.

My dad is a landscape architect, so I've been exposed to plants my whole life. I grow many types of plants, but I just got hooked on orchids. I remember buying my first Catt hybrid at the New Orleans Botanical Gardens Spring Show for $5. I later bloomed it, and that captured my interest for good.

My Corybas is doing well. It seems likes it's put on a small amount of growth.
Also thank you for your offer. It is very generous, and I'll send you my address.

    Thanks again.

L'aissez le bon temps roulez!! (sp?)

Welcome to the forum as a poster, goods. Grew up in Alexandria LA, best times were visits to south LA and the cajun culture. I "SO" miss muffaletas living in south florida.

I'll second Alexis offer, since I have to divide a couple plants. I notice you don't have Maxillaria tenuifolia, the coconut orchid. Shoud offset the stench, errr, aroma (*G*) of the bulbos.

    pm me

Hi goods and welcome to the forum. That's an impressive grow list. Way to grow!!! Although I live in California I went to college in SE Texas (SFASU in Nacogdoches), not far from the LA border, where I received my Forestry degree. Coincidentally, my brother is a landscape architect in Tulsa, OK.

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome. I know I'll learn alot from this place, and hopefully I can provide some useful information every now and then also.

One question though, I tried to post pics in my ghost orchid thread and I don't think it worked. I have a flickr account. How can I post pictures from there onto this site?

    Thanks
