Great terrestrial from Laos, Vietnam, Borneo, Java, Sulawesi and Sumatra according to the IOSPE. It's 14 inches tall, growing in a 3 inch pot of potting soil. It goes dormant in about a month, completely dry, until the new growth starts in May. I think it looks like fireworks!

This is my second year growing it. I like it!

There is a guy in Texas, selling these on Ebay for $19.50, and if you bid & don't win, he second chance offers at your low price. I just bout 2 Habenarias from him. Nice size, leaves look right on the H. medusa... Veracruz37 is the sellers name...

Erich Michel (michelorchid.com) also has them, but the price isn't listed. I got one from him in the spring, just out of flask, and it flowered this fall, with about as many flowers as in Karen's picture. He said they were fast growing, but I didn't expect that. (Must be a compatible local pollinator, as I have a couple of pods coming, too.)

Thanks, Karen. I've been hanging around for a week or two, but am just now getting around to updating my profile, etc. I see some people I know here.

I haven't said that about an orchid in a very long time. Thanks, Karen.
