Greenhouse 2 years old this month

I just put 40% shade back over greenhouse, the GH has not had any Shade cover since oct. 1, 09, I went 7 months with full sun conditions and the plants seem to have enjoyed the bright light, the poly allows strong light but without the burn of full sun, gotta love that double glaze and poly.

The last pic. shows the GH with shade cloth I put 50% on the front side, because during those really hot summer days I have to leave the door open and 2 fans going just to keep it somewhat cooler, so the black shade cloth blocks the direct sun from coming in through door

 

I used self tapping screws and heavy stainless steel wire to give me more hanging space. I also have a heart Hoya that is twining around that wire and reacing accross roof from one wire to another, I want this to happen as that will give me a little more hanging growing space.

The GH is an Easy grow, I have it raised on a brick wall foundation that I built and that gives me a roof top peak that is a little over 9', since I am 6'6" I need all the head room I can get.

 

I look at my plants everyday, I just killed 3 mealy bugs with alcohol and soapy water. I also use a product called Triazide I buy it at the local Nursery, it comes in bags and is granular. This gets spread around the GH floor and outside area of GH every couple months and that seems to control all but the slugs. For slugs I use the look and kill method or a product called Sluggo+ very good stuff, safe and effective.

I cannot spray my area with poisons at this point as I just hatched 3 egg cases of Praying Mantis in the GH now I have about 700 of them all over the place. I have seen them eating gnats, worms on a plant outside and feasting on a fly, good job for only 1" long and only 2 weeks old.
