I just sent this to Ohio yesterday. The camellia is made of sugarpaste as is the ladybug. The cake is made-from-scratch lemon cake with lemon buttercream icing and homemade fondant. Thanks for looking.

    nice job Ann...

My wife is talking about getting back into the cake decorating business I think. she has been watching Ace of Cakes all the time on the Food network. She did cakes like that before but stopped as I hated delivering them ;)

Thanks everyone. Tom, I'm right there with you on the delivery part, especially some of the wedding cakes I have made. I'm not doing those any more (just for family) but I will make sugarpaste flowers which can dress up a store cake. Tell your wife to go look at a website called pinkcakebox.com if she hasn't already found it. Really cool stuff.

Thanks again. You guys are great. I'll post tomorrow after it gets there. I think they have an ice storm coming tonight -- hope it doesn't freeze.

Thanks for the website Ann...I will be sure to send it to her to check out.

Actually it was after I had to deliver what we like tonow call the "wedding cake from hell" when she stopped doing cakes for money. She only does them for the immediate family now as well. She is getting the itch though because she loved doing them and with the economy her normal lisence/artwork is taking a back burner as no one is buying right now.

Thanks Alexis and Angela. I'm glad your DH liked the cake. I had fun doing it. This cake got there today, around noon, with only a minor "hernia" as my DIL described it. She's never at a loss for words. I told her to wash her hands and rub the fondant until the "hernia" disappeared, which it did. I don't know where that came from. Now I'm waiting to hear from Haley. She has no clue this was happening. How much fun is this?!!!

I am teasing of course. what I really want is a chocolate cream pie.

Your cakes are beautiful. You do good work, girly.

I have to find me one before May. I might even get off my lazy ass and make my own. Now there's a novel idea, homemade. Hm.

Have you heard from Haley yet? I imagine she was all ' ohmygod! that is so, like, you know, so....cool!'

Do kids still talk that way?
