I'm not sure how to tell the difference between Gomesa recurva and crispa....this came labelled as recurva.

I see alot.of roots on a mount. How much humidity do you give this? And how big is the plant

The roots were grown in a pot, I recently mounted it. My greenhouse has minimum humidity of 70%, averaging about 80%. The plant is about 10 inches tall. It's an easy plant to grow, and it adapts well to a wide range of humidity and temperature.

Another one for the "let's pronounce it wrong" category!

I have always taken that as "Go-MAY-sah" or "Go-MAY-zah", yet have learned that is it named after a Portuguese botanist, Dr. Gomes (rhyming with "homes"), so it should be "Gomes-uh".

Mines labeled Gomesa crispa, hard to tell. it looks like the orchids 004.JPG I.O.S.P. web site has pictures with and without red on the column for both Gom. crispa and Gom. recurva.
