Is this a new implementation? I noticed today that some threads are now sorted by genera, and the main thread list below has been reduced to only contain the unsorted threads.

The thing I really liked about this forum is that I didn't have to click on hundreds of different sub-forums to read the latest posts - I could see the 20-30 latest threads in one place and click the ones that were interesting. What's more, I've found that this method introduced me to species/genera I normally wouldn't have noticed. When there are 15 sub forums (like some other sites), I tend to just gravitate towards the 2 or 3 genera that interest me, because it's tedious to have to click 15 times to catch all the latest updates. Not sure if other people share a similar sentiment....maybe I'm just lazy!

I know there is a 'New Posts' tab at the top that lists all the newest threads, but that ends up pulling up threads from all the different sections (hybrids, orchid culture, etc...). Is it possible to add a species-only new posts tab?

I'd never seen that before. I have a bookmark for new posts so don't know how long it has been this way. What do other people think? I suspect it is possible to set up a search that brings up only what you want that could be bookmarked which would mean even less clicks to see what you want. Brent would be the one to answer this best.

I've poked around a bit more and it seems this is the only one of our forum like this. I'm fine with the idea that on home page there is a list of individual genera you could pick from, though it does give a very narrow view of what goes on here. I wouldn't like to see the Orchid Species page remain divided up by genus. It certainly isn't how I would use it. Most of us have a broader interest than in just one genus.

I saw this earlier today and was trying to keep an open mind about it or hoping it was a work in progress (which it may be). It may be a work in progress because page 6 of that forum is exactly like page 1 or page 255, etc. Hopefully Brent will let us know what's up. If this was a separate informational tab on the site I think that would be great.
