Gastrochilus sp.

    No blooms on this one yet, but Marni requested I post a picture of this plant. I have it labelled as Gastrochilus formosanus. I'm attaching a picture of the plant to show the habit and also a bad picture of the leaves to show the red spots.

    This is Gastrochilus fuscopunctatus.
    G. formosanus lacks the spots on the leafs and the leafs are more rounded and not pointed like fuscopuntatus. Its a great plant! =)

    I'll check on the spotting on the underside. My plant came from a cutting of a much larger mother plant, and it never grew curved like you mention with G. fuscopunctatus. The leaves on mine also seem more short and fat than the pictures I've seen of fuscopunctatus. That may be a result of growing conditions, and I've never actually seen a live fuscopunctatus to compare to this one.

    I checked the underside of the leaves, and there looks to be even fewer spots there than on the top.

    Yep! It's growing very well, so hopefully I'll have blooms soon.
