I grow this intermediate in the greenhouse. Winter day 18-20°C, night 12-14°C. Summer day 25-27°C, night 14-17°C. It gets watered every second or third day throghout the year. Grown on Epiweb. Medium light (Pleurothallis levels)

Interesting and very different growing and blooming habit, comparing to Gastrochilus dasypogon or Gastrochilus japonicus.

Very good growing! mine is still just a small cutting. I must be giving it more light than your plant is getting. Mine has purple spots all over the leaves.

Mikael, I have a real soft spot for the mat forming gastrochilus. I have quite a few labeled formosanus and I'm pretty sure that some are different, but I've never really studied them to see.

Goods, you may have Gastrochilus fuscopuntatus http://www.orchidsinteractive.com/s...s-fuscopunctatus-Lil&highlight=fuscopunctatus which has a somewhat different growth habit. There are two others that I am aware of that also have purple spots. The are even smaller and are quite rare in the US. Can you take a photo of the plant to show us in a new thread?

Marni, I'm home on spring break at the moment, and the plant's at my apartment. I'll take pictures on Sunday when I get back. I don't think it's fuscopunctatus, though. I've never seen that species in person, but from pictures, it seems to have more of a traditional Vandaceous growth habit. The one I have is definitely more "viney" like this one. If you look in my "New and Improved Tank" thread, the plant is at the top, back, right corner of the tank. I know it's a bad picture, but it can give you an idea of the growth habit at least.
