I bought this as Galeandra schunkii from a Brazilian vendor. It produced one flower quite unexpectedly. It doesn't match any of the G schunkii images on line and I'm wondering if anyone knows which species it is. The yellow of the lip is a bit more striking in person, but not too far off.

Thanks, Naoki. I've asked to be able to use ReseachGate. My Spanish is good and my Portuguese is sometimes good enough for something like this.

What a striking color combination, brings to mind orchids from the Andes.

It makes me think of hummingbirds. Though I suppose it should be red for that.

I just heard back from the vendor. This is a relatively new species name Galeandra schmidtii. Needless to say, I am very pleased to have it.
