Hi, I'm Michael Morales LLuch, live in NYC but travel back & forth to Puerto Rico to the NE Coast by the rain forest, by the town of Fajardo.

My aged parents reside in Puerto Rico are in need of care (Alzheimer) and my sister & I are here to help with their care. We both live in NYC, take turn alternating every 2-3 month exchanging between NYC & PR. I've been here the last 2 years and will continue to transit and provide for their care. Retired 3 years and will eventually settle here.

Growing plants since I was 3, been orchids most of my life, my grandmother grow mostly epidendrums, Cattleya and equitant Oncidums on tree's in the yard and got hooked.

The tropical, rain forest climate of the area allows me to grow mostly warm growing plants. I'm about 2 miles from the North coast about 200 feet elevation.

Growing in PR mostly Cattleya, Angraecum, Aerangis, Oncidum, Dendribum, Encyclia, Dendrochilums and a few terrestials.

Grow mostly species but also have hybrids, mostly monocots: Aroids; Marantas, Palms, Orchids, epiphitic cacti, Clivias, Grasses, Citrus, Bonsai, Ferns and South African Succulents, Euphoria

Been to 8 World Orchid Conference and Past President of the Manhattan Orchid Society.

My email is [email protected] Michael

Welcome to the forum. There are many orchid grower groups in the island. They fall roughly in two groups; The traditional orchid growing societies, which is composed mainly of older folks and the Internet groups, which has mostly young people of the facebook crowd. Both are very welcoming except for the fact that the younger ones seem to be not too fond of traditional orchid group meetings and meet only a few times a year, the rest of the time they chat throught the internet.

Taking care of my mother limits my movements, I don't get to go out too often nor very far, not being a driver makes getting around difficult but I always manage. Will be in PR until July or Aug then back to NYC for a few weeks, then going to California or Seattle.

Back here for Thanksgiving or Christmas or New Years if I decide to visit family in Europe for the holidays.

Wanted to go to Spice Park Show in Miami but can not leave my mother alone. ADORE Being there, it's so much fun!!!!

    My phone is 787 801 2181, cell 917 280 9381.Michael
