Hey friends. I've been away for a while. I'm happy to report that Spanky has been adopted. He went to a great home where they love him to death. He's been great, and they recently said in an e-mail, that they can't believe he's ever bitten anyone :) Here are some before and after pics of him. They took him to a groomer. I personally liked him with longer hair

AFTER (he kinda looks like a Preying Mantis to me)

After Spanky, came a 10 month old Pitbull named Sarah. She was the sweetest thing EVER!!!! What a total love. She went to an adoption event and found a home quickly. She is now part of a family. I miss that girl.

Our current foster is a total STUD. He is a 4 month old Pitbull named Moose. This picture doesn't really show how amazing this boy really is. He has muscles on top of his muscles. I'll try to get better pics soon. When he was first brought into the shelter, it looked like he was attacked by fire ants. While in the shelter, he ended up getting demo mange. Not bad though. He'll recover quickly. This guy is just plain cool. Prowler and him have become good buds, and even sleep side by side

    Hey Dew!
I bet that Spanky enjoys his new doo better then the old look. I think he looks..clean. I dunno, but that fuzzy long hair just looks..messy and dirty to me. I'm happy he found a forever home.
And Sarah! How could you give her up?? She looks like a perfect doll!
Love Moose. Just love him, he looks nice. We will need a better photo, please.

Thank you so much for posting these, Dew. I love your rescue dogs!
    Marry Me, Dew! :D

Spanky sure looks better clipped, even w/ the Preying Mantis head thing going on.
    The Smile pic is cute.

My dog was playing with Moose's twin brother on the beach today Dew ..... lovely little boy pupppy - his owners told me he came from the local pound and he was a 'staffy x' - down here BSL is pretty fierce for Pitties at least with that breed ID the little bugger stands some chance of a good (and long) life ......

Great photos, love your work!

Thats great that you let them play. THANK YOU!!!! You just did a "ton of good" to help that pit boy socialize. Thats what they need.

I could go on a total rant about BSL, but I'll bite my tongue (or fingers in this case) :)

Thats it MJ - its a terrible law which has little basis in fact - makes a lot of people really angry ..... anyway thats a whole other thread - in fact a whole other forum on that topic! - although I did see an interesting article late last year on dog bites that put the Pitty at like 70 on the list of "frequency of dog bites" and number 1 was a dachshund

Dew - Morty's best mate from puppy class is an unpapered AmStaff (thankfully that's on his registration and chip so technically he should be safe) so basically a Pitty - he is a great dog who unfortunately has turned a touch dominant over smaller dogs and puppies so is only allowed off lead play in the backyard with Mort as they know each other ... poor boy is only the same age as Mort - so around 10mths old and this is going to be his life ... his owners need to keep him safe and therefore all exercise and interactions are on lead but he is lovely towards humans ... great dog - stunning colours and just a real smoocher .... I've been told that it all stems from being rumbled hard as a puppy by other dogs and thats how he learn't to behave - they are seeking behavioral advice but for now its a pretty restricted doggie-interactive life for him .... but they live close so the boys get to run together fairly often ....
