A+. I plan on covering the walls of my cabinet with Epiweb. I ordered a specified amount, and Ray sent the pieces exactly to size. I wouldn't hesitate to order from him again.

I have ordered MSU fertilizer from Ray as well. Since we are both in SE PA he offered to meet me to save shipping costs! Since my schedule did not permit this to happen he shipped it out and it arrived at my door the next day!

I too would not hesitate ordeing from Ray again should I need something he carries.

I recently got 22.5 liters of EpiWeb from him in the "granular" form. It's pieces cut into 3/4"-1"cubes. A perfect online transaction, and I have high expectations of the product.

I've been mixing it with fir bark at a rate of maybe 10 to 20 percent in wooden baskets. The EpiWeb pieces are layered in mostly toward the bottom and middle of the baskets to ensure better aeration in these areas and to prevent compaction of the medium as the bark ages. It will probably slow down the bark's rate of decompostion also.

I think this stuff will be great, but will it remain available in the USA? On the EpiWeb site, Ray was formerly listed as the only dealer in the U.S. Now, he's not on the dealer page.

So Ray, are you going to stop selling EpiWeb?

I cant tell if your comment was sarcasm or not.

To me it seems like Ray sells something else than Epiweb.

I have dealt with Ray and it has always been a very positive expierence!

I think this whole thing should have never been aired out on a public forum! It was in very bad taste and even poorer business sense to start that thread in the first place. Ray had no choice to respond since he was being called out but also should have said we need to take this offline.

For the record though I am not saying who is right or wrong but just saying this should have been dealt with privately.

Thank you for trying to disseminate information, Fungus. Unfortunately, hotlinks to OSF cannot be supported by OI. Mikael has a standing invitation to participate on OI, but he has chosen not to do so yet.

I have been wondering why I have been seeing such well grown plants on EpiWeb from some European growers. I tried what Ray was selling a couple years ago and was not particularly impressed with the results. Certainly didn't feel the desire to try more.

When I first heard of this controversy about 2 weeks ago, I Googled EpiWeb and the first thing that came up was a page from FirstRays. The page was "url not found" but it was cached as of February 20th so I looked at that. The product shown there didn't seem to have the same density as the product that I tried. But hard to tell.

I disagree that this should be taken off line. If this conversation was private, I would not be aware that there is a question if what I tried was the same thing being used so successfully in Europe.

My feelings are inline with Marni's comments.

I don't think Mikeals purpose was to out Ray for what he did, but was to let his North American customers know that the product they are/were recieving from Ray was not Epiweb and the results they got when using it are not typical. I don't know of many North Americans who are happy with it. But like Marni, I have noticed lots of europeans who are successfully using the stuff.

If nothing else, it may make so people reconsider trying Epiweb if they can be sure the product is authentic.

    Just my 2 cents.

I have not bought anything from Ray, so I can't comment on his service and products. But for the Epiweb case, I have to agree with Marni and Kyle.

Two thumbs up for firstrays. Excellent service, products, and pricing. Ray is always very helpful. I'm glad he is carrying R/O supplies now.
